Christine Corrigan Mendez, M.Ed., LPC, NCC

Welcome!

I'm happy you're interested in learning more about my counseling experience and specialties.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my Master's Degree in Community Counseling

from the University of Missouri St. Louis in May, 2013. In addition to providing counseling services,

I write for Dogster.com and write and record guided meditations.

During my practicum, two semesters of fieldwork at Creve Coeur Counseling Associates, and my current practice, I have worked with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, substance use issues and an overall lack of belief in themselves.

As their stories unfold, I listen and understand where my clients have been, are, and want to be.

We then work together to find motivation for change, and draw from proven counseling strategies

to help make this change possible. Strength-centered, cognitive behavior, dialectical behavior

and acceptance and commitment therapies are consulted throughout the counseling process.

I also integrate mindfulness, meditation and relaxation exercises with every client.

I have a special interest in grief counseling, with a focus on pet loss. Bereaved pet guardians too often cannot find complete support when they have lost this special relationship. Friends, family, and society may be unable to truly understand. Through individual teletherapy services, I am

here to provide the help needed.

I also work with many clients on their Fitness goals. I developed a Fitness Motivation toolbox, and provide individual counseling to help clients move forward. I am a certified Spinning Instructor

and AFAA Primary Group Exercise Instructor.

My current initiative is writing children's wellness literature. Visit KidsCanClub.com to learn more!
